Highland Oaks Middle School

Highland Oaks Middle School is located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and serves grades 6-8. It housed more than 2,200 students as of the beginning of the school year. On October 16, 2006, all sixth graders, about 700, transferred to HOM West, the school's branch built at a former K-mart store to relieve some of the overcrowding of the school.

The school is in unincorporated Miami-Dade County, with a North Miami Beach address, and serves the cities of Aventura and Sunny Isles Beach.

The school is also a hurricane shelter. It is one of two hurricane animal shelters in the county.

HOMS students are required to wear school uniforms.

highland oaks closed its west campus and gave it to Dr.Michael Krop high school for the 9th graders. At the end of the school year they have the spirit week, which finishes with a field day(a day when they set a fair on the schools field behind the school)eighth graders also enjoy the graduation party or as the students call it "prom".

Ponce De Leon Middle School

Ponce De Leon Middle School is a magnet school in Coral Gables, Florida. The population (as of July 2006) is about 1,200, a drop from the 1,400 students enrolled in 2005. The school receives both area students magnet students who wish to come for its three-year International Baccalaurate (IB) program and its International Studies (IS) programs. The school also offers a full-time gifted program.

The school was founded in 1924 by Robertson Olsen. It was originally a high school and later became a middle school. Unlike many area schools, Ponce has block classes (3 periods a day alternating) rather than 6 classes a day.

Rockway Middle School

Rockway Middle School is located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, USA. Rockway Middle has been an A+ school since 2000 and has placed first in the county for attendance. Their chess team won 1st place in the 2006 Nationals event in California and has often won state and regional championships. The school has over 1500 students. The school's mascot is the Falcon and the school colors are brown and gold. The current principal is Mrs. Jo Anne Gans and the school requires a school uniform. Rockway also has a block schedule of Monday all classes Tuesday periods 2,4,6 Wednesday 1,3,5 Thursday 2,4,6 & Friday 1,3,5. This is only changed if there is early release which in that situation it is commonly 6,2,4 or 5,1,3. Rockway also has different teams like 6th grade Wildcats, 6th grade Twisters, 7th grade Panthers, 7th grade Knights, 8th grade Bulldogs, 8th grade Phantoms, & gifted Cobras.

Ruben Dario Middle School

Ruben Dario Middle School (RDMS) is a public school in Miami, Florida. It has around 850 to 900 students. The school mascot is the cougar.

Shenandoah Middle School

Shenandoah Middle School is a public-magnet middle school in the historic Shenandoah section of Miami, Florida. It offers a Museum Magnet program for grades 6-8.[1] The curriculum of a Museum Magnet is based on close collaboration with museums for educational expertise and resources.
